Terms of Use — SyncBrief

Effective date: 28 August 2026

These terms govern your use of SyncBrief (“the app”), published by AiDigiApps. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. You may not reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as those terms allow.

2. Bring your own key & provider costs

Cloud transcription and summarizing use your own API key with the provider you choose. Your relationship with that provider — including their terms, their privacy practices, and all fees they charge for your usage — is between you and them. We are not responsible for provider charges, outages, quality, rate limits, or account actions. Model names and prices shown in the app are fetched for convenience and may lag the provider's own pricing; the provider's bill is authoritative. The on-device options involve no provider and no per-use fees.

3. Subscription, free trial & free tier

The free tier includes every feature with a monthly transcription allowance. SyncBrief Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription sold per platform (monthly, quarterly or yearly each): Pro for iPhone removes the allowance on iPhone and Apple Watch, and Pro for Mac removes it on the Mac and unlocks the watched folder and batch export. Each subscription applies to its own platform. Each plan includes a 14-day free trial for new subscribers; the subscription starts charging when the trial ends unless cancelled at least 24 hours before. Payment is charged to your Apple account; manage or cancel anytime in your Apple subscription settings. Prices are shown in the App Store in your local currency and may change with notice through the App Store. We may adjust what the free allowance includes over time.

4. Recording consent & acceptable use

SyncBrief is a recording tool. You are solely responsible for using it lawfully — in particular, recording a conversation or call may require the consent of some or all participants depending on your jurisdiction, your workplace rules, and the terms of the meeting service you use. Do not use the app to record people unlawfully or covertly where consent is required, to infringe others' rights, or to violate any applicable law. You retain ownership of your recordings and the outputs generated from them; we claim no rights over your content (it never reaches us).

5. AI output disclaimer

Transcripts, speaker labels and summaries are generated by machine-learning models and can be wrong — words misheard, speakers confused, points missed or misattributed. AI-generated content is labeled in the app and is editable; timestamps the app cannot verify against the recording are flagged. Review outputs before relying on them. They are not professional, legal, medical or financial advice, and must not be treated as a verbatim legal record of what was said.

6. Third-party components

The app relies on services and components from third parties — your chosen AI providers, Apple's frameworks and In-App Purchase, and open-source components including Whisper-family models and on-device speaker-identification models served from public hosts. Their availability is not guaranteed by us, and their licenses and terms apply to them.

7. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that recordings will always be captured — test your setup before meetings that matter, and keep backups of recordings you cannot afford to lose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AiDigiApps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost recordings, lost data, or provider fees, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update the app and these terms; the “Effective date” above will change accordingly. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
