Terms of Use — AI Chess

Effective date: 12 July 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the AI Chess app (“the app”), published by AiDigiApps (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law.

2. Bring your own key & provider costs

To play against a cloud AI, AI Chess uses a third-party AI provider with an API key you supply (“BYOK”). You are responsible for:

Any cost or token figures shown in the app are approximate estimates for your convenience only, based on published pricing, and are not a bill or a guarantee. The provider's own account is the source of truth for what you are charged. We do not control, and are not responsible for, third-party providers, their availability, pricing, or output.

3. Subscription, free trial & free tier

AI Chess requires no account or login. It installs free, and its free tier lets you play the built-in on-device AI at no cost, indefinitely. The built-in chess engines and cloud AI require an active subscription. Each subscription plan includes a 14-day free trial that starts when you begin the subscription; you are not charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then at no cost.

Full access is offered as an auto-renewable subscription, available as a monthly or yearly plan, sold and billed through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account on confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews at the then-current price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple Account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. You can Restore Purchases from within the app on any device signed in to the same Apple Account. A subscription does not include any third-party AI provider charges, which are billed to you directly by that provider as described above.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to:

5. AI output disclaimer

AI Chess is provided for entertainment. Moves, hints, and analysis produced by any engine or AI model may be suboptimal, and a cloud or on-device model may occasionally return an illegal or unusable move; in that case the app validates the reply and falls back to a built-in engine so play can continue. None of the output is professional advice.

6. Third-party components

The optional on-device engine uses Google's Gemma model, made available under the Gemma Terms of Use, run via Google's LiteRT-LM runtime. By downloading and using the on-device model you agree to Google's applicable terms for that model.

7. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AiDigiApps will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or provider charges, arising from your use of the app.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” above will change, and continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
